       FIS Freshman Team Bags the First Place in the Regional Orals of the 2008 Metrobank MTAP - Dep Ed Math Challenge


The FIS delegates composed of Carla Mae Nacionales, Ronald Medina, Royce Pacibe, together with Mr. Michael Vizconde and the FIS Assistant Director, Mr Bora Aslan whose presence had been a constant inspiration to the team for his moral support  which dolstered the team`s morale to do their best, left the school premises at 7:30 AM on March 14, 2008 to compete to the Regional Orals expectantly hoping that they would bring home the bacon.

At the venue of the contest, Rizal High School in Pasig City, after the registration of the delegates, the program promptly commenced at 8:30 AM with a beautiful doxology led by Mr. Maximo Rafol and a prayer for the country led by Ms. Virginia Politico. The delegates were warmly welcomed by Dr. Josephine M. Cruz Rizal High School Principal IV, where she also related with much pride the noble history of her centennial- old school and its being included in the Guiness Book holding the undefeated record ofbeing the biggest populated public high school.An inspirational message and the turn - over of trophies and awards by the Metrobank representatives to Sr. Iluminada C. Coronel, FMM, MTAP President followed. Then, the honorable board of judget composed of six Ateneo De Manila University professors, the hopeful contestants and their repective coached were introduced by Mrs. Ofelia Sison. The reading of the mechanics was done by Mrs. Jocelyn Alinab.

The much awaited portain of the program, the constent proper was held at the gymnasium and alumni hall for categories A and B respectively.

With the team`s synergetic efforts and determination with the coach`s and school`s love and concern and with the grace and enlightenment of the FIS freshmen team was able to beat all other 18 schools from the National Capital Region with a resounding 51 points barely missing 9 points to get the perfect score of 60. Parang High School landed second place with a score of 47 points. For the third place, the breaker questions were served to Don A. Roces Science Technological High School and Novaliches Hish School where the former proved and emerged as the better one between the two.

During the closing program, the MTAP President, Sr. Iluminada C. Coronel delivered her message to all the delegates and was followed by the announcement of winners and the awarding of trophies, medals and certificates.

The jubilant FIS team received their trophy. certificates, and medals which symbolized their culminated hardwork, determination, and unwavering to succeed this particular endeavor!

Once again, it was proven that it is in Fountain International School WHERE LOVE AND CONCERN SPELL SUCCESS!
