Two Fountaineers qualified for the San Juan elimination for the 30^th National Quiz Bee held last December in Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong City. Kim Jeo Hyun (Andrew) of Grade 5 competed for Mathematics while Anna Weronika Smigielska of grade 4 tried for Makabayan and Values.

The elimination was held on two different schedules participated by more than 60 students of San Juan. Participants were accompanied by their respective coaches, T. Alper and T. Josie. The quiz bee was organized by Ms. Petlizou Tayag who was the quizmaster herself.

     The student/participants were representatives from Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan (PAMAMARISAN) only. The next round of competition will be on January 23, 2010, 1:00 – 7:00 P.M. at  SM Megamall Event Center

     FIS is  included in five schools with the highest ranking scores/student per subject category .Other students who joined the competition were Sharlyn Kaye Andres, Arianna Marie Macaraeg, Todd Kendall and Ha Hun Min of Grade 4 and 5 respectively.

      While our winners were busy preparing themselves for the next round of event, some students from grades 1-5 took the written competition part of the Metrobank Foundation, Inc, the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines  (MTAP) Challenge with the theme “Moving   Forward through Excellence in Mathematics” held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Pinaglabanan Elementary School.

      The competitors from our school were: Gr 1; Antoine Carl Go, Osman Briydee Ilhan , Alyssa Barbra Therese Florendo and Ron Ha Yeon (Stella), Gr. 2;  Kim Min Suk, Kirsten Kayla Nubla and Kang Ji Won (Anne),  Gr. 3; Ahmed Ibn Djaliv Hataman, Fawazilla Marsyah Utomo, Joshua Aldred Yebes  and  Justine Michaella Yu, Gr.4; Ha Hun Min (James), Ha Jeong Eum ( Jonha),Kim So Hyun (Trisha) and  Anna Weronika Smilgielska; Gr. 5; Matthew Ivar Yan and Kim Joohyun (Andrew).
