| The Science and Art Exhibit held at the FIS Annapolis Campus was a success. It was originally slated from February 8-12 2010, however, many people came on Saturday and Sunday and viewed the children’s creativeness so the management decided to extend the exhibits for another week. The event is the culmination of their lessons in different subjects and had been depicted through their sense of art.
The Vice President for Integrated Center for Academic Development (ICAD) Mr. Ali Aydin with the Annapolis Administrator Director Yusuf Ozdemir and Asst. Director Ferhat Kazkondu opened the ceremony with the ribbon cutting that formally launched the exhibition. Each grade level from pre-school, to Grade 6 have their own booth where the best projects are displayed. The skills of the students in different areas were developed, enriched and enhanced in this affair. They were able to come up with interesting, colorful, informative and environment-friendly projects in different subjects which awakened the interests of parents, guardians and visitors who sacrificed a bit of their time to show their love and support for them and took part in choosing the best projects. Students were advised to invite as many visitors as they can, an incentive to be put against their project and participation marks which will be credited for their fourth quarter grade. The audience vote for the different awards such as the Best Individual Project, Best Group Project, Most Creative, Most Colorful, and Most Environment Friendly project. Aside from the parents, guardians, relatives, friends and other administrators and teachers from other schools who came to the exhibits and helped grace the event, the Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Mr. Choi Joong-Kyung came too, on February 12, 2010. He was welcomed by everyone in the campus headed by Mr. Yusuf. He met the Korean students and visited each classroom for him to be more familiar with the school environment. The FIS family is continuously welcoming visitors to see the artistic creations of the students. The time, effort and resources spent by the teachers, students, staff and the administrators were well acknowledged if you come and see the wonderful creations of our students. |
